about

I have written this song inspired by and in honor of Trayvon Martin. All proceeds will be donated to the Trayvon Martin Foundation.

Trayvon is my son, he's your son. He's your nephew, cousin or brother and we can no longer let him be gunned down while no one is properly brought to justice. That's what this song is about.

lyrics

LYRICS

on a cold rainy night,
he went out for a walk.
he wasn't looking for a fight, no no
he wasn't afraid to talk.

tryin' to get from a boy to a man
it ain't easy
when your black,
ain't no easy way.
you can dream for tomorrow
but still, ya gotta live
ya gotta live for today

if he knew then
what I know now
ain't no way
he would ever leave here...

good ol' George
he started followin' him
thinks he, thinks he mighta
mighta done somethin' wrong
he never asked any question
oh no he just kept on
he just kept taggin along

maybe if I turn the corner
he'll fade away
I'm just tryin to get home...

Trayvon I can hear you calling
I been waitin, you been gone too long
Trayvon I can hear you cryin'
I got a pain in my heart
say's somethin's wrong
can someone wake me
tell me this is just a dream,
just a bad dream...

the sunshine state has another
another example of a
another point of view
but I don't share their phony wisdom
if you can stand your ground
ain't I gotta right to stand mine too

they shot my brother down cold blooded
comin' home from the store
he didn't have a gun in his pocket
just some candy, juice
and nothin' more

I should be angry
but I still
can't believe its true, no no
when ya comin home boy?

Trayvon I can hear you cryin'
I been waitin'
you've been gone too long
Trayvon I can hear you laughin'
I got a pain in my heart
says something's wrong
will someone wake me
tell me this is just a dream
just a bad dream

I should be angry
but I can't believe its real
are you comin' home boy?
when ya comin home boy?
please come on home boy
